FYI, looks like #Migadu doesn't accept e-mail from gentoo.org (their server disconnects us after EHLO). One of their users contacted them, and they've basically replied with blanket response without doing anything to resolve the problem.

Hey Fediverse and @thunderbird, I'm trying out ​#migadu to get away from the GAFAM.
My current setup is to create one alias per website. Is it possible to reply as the alias without creating one identity per alias? I have over a hundred aliases...

@chesheer I've tried lots of different services, and I'm still convinced by two of them: #Fastmail and #Migadu

The latter is very affordable if you use email moderately (i.e., for typical family use).

@ac @ente @elementary That's a interesting tool, it lists many niche options also, like the convenient email provider Migadu 👌 I made one about me too, it was fun! As DNS I usually prefer OpenNIC but it's not listed, I will open a pull request as well

@mick @EricCarroll I’m sure #fastmail is fine. I use #migadu for email. Few frills, no AI bullshit, very reasonably priced. #porkbun, of course, are brilliant for domain names.

I went to go sign up for a #Migadu account. Turns out you need an #email address to get an account to use email addresses.

Anyone have any opinions on #Migadu #email? Need to consolidate my email services from #Proton and another provider.

Seems like a pretty sane alternative to hosting my own email server.

Just realized it will soon be a year since I moved to Migadu from Fastmail and have been quite happy. No problems. I don't receive or send a lot of mails and the 19$ per year plan is perfect for my usage.

I really should thank @mozilla for giving me the final kick in the crotch to stop trusting anything I don't host myself.

The big one to switch over from will be self-hosting email. I'm planning to follow @mwl's Run Your Own Mail Server. That one will be a big leap. I'm currently using #migadu and they've been great, but I would like to be in total control of my data.

Every time I look at #mailbox providers, I get happier about my #Runbox.

I just gave a look at #Migadu, which was heavily recommended in some threads here. In 5 minutes I found 3 things I don't like:

1) No explicit pricing to get more storage space beyond the plan's default.

2) Says servers are "in France" but doesn't say with whom in the #privacy policy.

@Catarina I’m quite happy with #migadu . it’s a regular email provider without wild claims on security and without crazy apps to see your mail.

Really impressed by #Migadu support today.

I have acquired a new domain and I’m using it alongside my current email address. Migadu offers a nice domain-level alias feature, but I noticed that DMARC validation was failing (https://dmarcchecker.app/ is really handy). This was in turn due to a missing DKIM signature.

I messaged the support, on a Sunday, expecting it would get sorted some time next week since my plan has best effort support. 30 minutes later they came back with a temporary fix! 🎉

Dernier nom de domaine chez Gandi débloqué, j'avais des redirections email, j'ai ouvert un compte chez Migadu, plus qu'à changer les champs MX.

Shout-out to #migadu #email #service! They provide a fairly priced service based on storage and not in the amount of mailboxes. Ideal for #privacy minded people or that own multiple domains.

After a year of use, there was only a small hiccup for a couple of hours.
