the third channel, QAB, did not make it for the evening news. it will probably be broadcast today. -
here's a link to #ryukyubroadcasting #rbc #琉球放送 youtube channel because they don't have a proper site with embedded videos and yes they fell in my esteem when i realised that.
they also mainly show the post-war reconstructed walls instead of the ryukyu kingdom period ones…

you can see me from afar telling prof. touma that no, it's not a gate, just an arch, the gate is behind us and is gorgeous as well.

today we had a special open day for archaeologists and the press and it was a real success. we had cameras from all the channels except the nhk and journalists from the times and the shimpo. if with this coverage we don't have at least 300 persons turning up on sunday for the public open day !

i wish the nhk had come as well, apparently naha city didn't call them… -
So you're coming to our #MieGusuku open day on Sunday ? Have a map of the bakeries between Asahibashi Station and the site.
My favourite is circled, it's Pain de Main, which does not make any sense in French. the one inside Loisir Hotel is quite wonderful as well but closed on Sundays.

who the hell in their right mind would abandon a pair of perfectly nice docs at the foot of #MieGusuku wall ?
(last time i found a pair of shoes in the jungle i also found the body to which they belonged) (it was the jungle, we're in the middle of naha) -
i'll be digging in #MieGusuku in #Naha until the end of December, woohoo !
this means christmas is cancelled, but, yeah, i'm digging another gusuku !

we started clearing this morning, we'll dig at least five trenches at the base of the walls to confirm the historical walls are still there (the upper part of the walls are post-war, they use bricks and blocks probably from a taisho or showa lighthouse that used to stand there)
