I settled on my birthday present: Akai MPK Mini MK3.
My dad, though, seems to really want me to use our digital piano as my MIDI keyboard, an ability it does possess but makes for a bloated, cumbersome workflow.
He does want me to go to the exhibition hall to try the Akai out, which sounds reasonable.

(Just to note, I would totally understand if he said he doesn't want to pay for this)
