Christina Hines and Mallory McMorrow aren't good people. They're politicians, so this was known. They are spammers, which is a norm these days for politicians.

Dems say new Michigan voting rights bills strengthen democracy
The state House in Michigan voted through a handful of bills aimed at addressing different elements of the voting process to ensure every eligible voter can participate in elections.
The bills address maintaining online voter applications, voting rights for military spouses, as well as eliminating certain parts of the state’s voting laws with the goal of allowing increased access to voters on Election Day.
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson issued a statement Wednesday after the House voted on the legislation, saying the bills strengthen democracy in the state.
“At a time when voting rights are under attack at the federal level and in other states, I’m proud that Michigan is a leader in protecting and strengthening our fundamental right to participate in elections,” said Benson, a Democrat. “These bills keep our polling sites accessible for everyone and ensure the continued security of our absentee voting system.

Dems plan to center climate legislation this fall to secure billions in federal funds
Since taking control of the House and Senate in January, Michigan Democrats have introduced a number of policies to help write the goals of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s MI Healthy Climate Plan into state law. This includes transitioning to a 100% clean energy standard by 2035 — which includes renewable sources as well as nuclear energy — increasing the state’s energy waste reduction standard to 2% of total annual electricity sales and decarbonizing businesses across the state.
Courtney Bourgoin, the Midwest senior policy and advocacy manager for Evergreen Action, outlined four key findings from a report published by 5 Lakes Energy and the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council on Thursday, which assessed the economic and health benefits of policies aimed at achieving the state’s climate goals.
“First, it’s going to slash energy costs for Michigan families by at least $145 a year. And that will happen by the end of this decade. Second, it’s going to more than double investment in Michigan if we add state policy on top of federal policy” Bourgoin said.
“It’s also going to avoid 1,000 premature deaths in our state by 2050 by avoiding pollution. And lastly, it’s going to continue increasing our job growth in the state. By 2050 we’ll see an additional 160,000 jobs if we pass these policies,” Bourgoin said.

Recall petitions filed against 5 Democratic, 1 Republican House members
Petitions to recall five Democratic state representatives in Michigan over their votes on recent hate crime and gun reform legislation were filed last week, according to the state Secretary of State’s office, as well as one petition against a Republican representative over his vote for the Democratic House speaker.
State Reps. Jennifer Conlin (D-Ann Arbor), Reggie Miller (D-Belleville) and Jaime Churches (D-Wyandotte) all had recall petitions filed against them by different people citing their yes votes on legislation, HB 4474, to expand the definition of hate crimes to include violence on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, age and disability.
Fox News and other right-wing outlets recently spread misinformation about Michigan’s proposed hate crime law reform package saying it would criminalize using the wrong pronouns for a person. Pronouns are not mentioned once in the legislation.
The recall petitions for Reps. Sharon MacDonell (D-Troy) and Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City) cite their yes votes on the House’s version of “red flag” gun legislation to allow for judges to issue a temporary order for the removal of firearms for defendants that pose a significant threat to themselves or others. The red flag legislation coming from the Senate was signed into law, in addition to other gun law reforms in May.
Rep. Cam Cavitt of Cheboygan is the sole Republican lawmaker who had a recall petition filed against them last week, in his case citing his yes vote when the House elected Rep. Joe Tate (D-Detroit) to act as House speaker for the legislative session that began in January.
