I just tried MARTA Reach and had a similar smooth experience as when they piloted it a few years back. You can book rides in advance in the MARTA Reach app, with the exception that while on the train, you might have to wait until you exit the station before booking, depending on what pickup times are offered.

Last night we discussed the MetroMicro pilot program at the #MetroLosAngeles Westside & Central Service Council meeting. The program is very popular with the people able to access it, but the staff member called the cost per individual rider "discouraging".
The trade-off Metro will have to decide is convenience for individual riders versus serving the most people. How best to get riders to/from #transit stations remains the question.

Streetsblog is making good points here. If #MetroLosAngekes is going to continue #microtransit, it needs to rethink the whole program.
Perhaps Microtransjt should be redesigned around getting people to/from Metrorail, Metroliner, and Metrolink stations, and perhaps the 23 big transit transfer centers in low service areas.

I'm not sold on Microtransit as the best use of scarce Metro dollars.
Who doesn't like the idea of a $1 Uber? I get why the riders who use it like it.
But with Metro paying $43 dollars a ride, and with transit operating dollars so scarce, I just cannot help but wonder.
Only 19% of its users take it to get to transit lines. Should we restrict use to get to/from Metro/Metrolink stations?
