LAST TRANCE
Every afternoon he contemplated the beautiful sunset,
never ceasing to marvel,
despite the years of witnessing it,
on the same stone bench built in the viewpoint,
in front of that sea that seemed imposing.
The old man, afflicted by ailments and a distant past,
although he breathed with difficulty, did so with all his strength,
as if to rise between sighs and a love for life,
