Sure, not *supporting* old software after a certain point is reasonable. But stripping software of its core functionality under the premise of an expired certificate is straight-up foul play, if you ask me.

@DanielMReck @readbeanicecream when Microsoft tried to charge a subscription for #MicrosoftOffice I installed OpenOffice on my Mac laptop. Figured I’d use it until something I needed to do required I go back to MSoffice.
All these years later, nothing requiring me to go back to office has come up.

Die Folge ist konkret: Ältere Office-Versionen schalten automatisch in einen eingeschränkten Modus. Dokumente lassen sich danach noch öffnen, ansehen und drucken, aber Bearbeiten, Speichern und neu Erstellen ist nicht mehr möglich.
