Finally confronting the world of microscope file standards and a big 2P volume time series dataset, that needs to be acquired, sent over the net, archived and analyzed.

So there is .tiff and there is ome.tiff, and then later .nii (nifty for FMRI but usefully for microscopy), and if you want compression then a tar.zst but .tiff is also an archive with pages encoded in whatever you want.

I wonder what people do and if there is a preferred pipeline of acquisition, compression, storage that is also accessible for a downstream ecosystem of analysis tools.
