  2. 🔬🤏 In a groundbreaking display of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, scientists have now developed a QR code so minuscule that you need an electron microscope to read it. Because why not make a simple task like scanning a QR code as complex and inaccessible as possible? 🤷‍♂️🔍

  6. Looks like I managed to find a good replacement battery for my #DiFluid #microscale, one that should even give me significantly more runtime on one charge. Not super sure about the thermistor (the third wire), but my (somewhat) educated guess is that almost all li-ion batteries that use a thermistor probably use the same one.

The new battery is charging for now, at least.

I really would've hated to have to chuck out the scales because of a faulty battery.

  11. One for fans of older superhero TV shows? :P
Just figured I'd try and recreate a small regularly recurring scene. What do you think? Do you recognise it, and am I too old?

  12. Sigh. I've been trying to cut down on toy/trinket grabbing (often unsuccessfully, because if I see something cool and it's not super pricey, I'm prone to grab it) but I think I might grab these, if I remember.

    They're too damn cool. 🤣

  13. New Process Allows #3DPrinting of #Microscale #MetallicParts | www.caltech.edu

"The heat not only removes the #hydrogel, it also causes the overall structure to shrink as the hydrogel burns off, resulting in an even tinier metal structure. With this process, in addition to pure metals, the team can 3-D #print metal #alloys and multicomponent metallic systems, with feature sizes around 40 microns, or less than half the width of a human hair."
