Made with firmware version 5.0.0.2084, but none of these particular patches make use of the new sampler/granular features, so they may work with older versions, I’m not sure. Released under the Anti-Capitalist Soundware License.

This thing is very fun to make sounds on. :)

I finally recorded an improvisation on the Microfreak and had some fun with a modest handful of modulations. I stuck to the one sound that I can roll around in for hours – lowpass-filtered supersaw pads. The keybed of the Microfreak takes some getting used to, but it's so much fun!

Are there any (as in any at all?!) books out there about "how to program the #Arturia #MicroFreak"?

I mean. It's one of the most successful and influential synths of the last decade, still very much relevant - but I can't find any books about it.

Maybe the medium "book" is dead in relation to synths nowadays? I mean, there are still DX7 books in the wild ;)

I've got #BespokeSynth rigged up to take inputs from #Orca, my #MicroFreak, and a #Midi controller -- I've got a handful of free VSTs, everything's flowing.

Nothing I've made with this configuration sounds good yet, but it all *feels* right. I've got the vibe down, now I just need to figure out my sound.

Since I started playing with music-y stuff last year there's been a synth sound in my head I've been trying to make and all the VSTs and bitwig builtins couldn't scratch the itch but I goddamn made it myself with the #microfreak today and IM SO SATISFIED

It turns out it's a super basic sound to make actually, I think the physical knobs just help with the experimentation process.

Instrument shop had an in-store 0% financing sale this weekend so I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a #Microfreak as my first (hardware) synth!

Used up some lieu time to go pick it up and spend the day learning it.... aaand it looks like it won't arrive in-store till Monday after the financing deal is over ;_;

The samples I prepped for last year's #FAWM are really good, y'all. And the patches I made out of them on the #MicroFreak are a gift that keeps on giving.

Never mind, I figured it out using just my ears. So for future reference: I knew that the #MicroFreak wanted mono, 16-bit Wav samples, so I made a mono WAV, or so I thought. But the audio got exported as a stereo file and because of how I prepared the sample, all the sound was in the right channel. Apparently, when you send a stereo file to the MicroFreak, the MicroFreak keeps the left channel.
So a file with a correct 'stereo' balance solves the problem.

Holy cow! I received yesterday the #ArturiaDrumbruteImpact and the association with the #Microfreak is just amazing 🤩 I spent an evening playing some chords with the arpeggiator and playing on them using strings patches on the #Proteus/1 the results can be hypnotic and emotional. I’m amazed. I think I will get this configuration for a few days, recording the results with the #ReelToReel tape machine. It’s incredibly effective 😍🥰🤯 #dawless is the future 🤫

Yesterday, I had the pleasant opportunity to have a lunch with a group of engineers working for #Arturia. They were clearly bright and highly skilled persons, they were fun and genuinely proud of some of their products, like the #microfreak synth. It was amazing discussing with them and I can understand why #Arturia is so successful right now among musicians.

Hello nice Web peeps!! Has anyone had any experience with building an #AtariPunkConsole from #Rakit? I’ve successfully built mine and it’s sounding good. The only thing is when I connect my #Microfreak via CV and gate the notes ascend and descend the opposite way from usual. Any ideas?

I think of the #arturia #microfreak or the #microkorg that not by coincidence have similar names. Honestly, I would not go cheaper (unless you find something second hand.)
Important is that you start with a synth that at the very least has hardware knobs for filter cutoff and resonance, and for the envelope (ADSR).
