My best boy ever, Micky. I think he was about 4 months old here and him riding shotgun became his preferred seat---I have dozens and dozens of photos of him riding there. I'll add one to the comments.

10 years ago, we had a wonderful foster named Hunter. He was severely emaciated, practically hairless due to demodex mange and had zero training. He went on to adopt a young boy named Owen and lived another 9 years with this family.

"Hunter is teaching us. He has taken to standing over Micky, which leads to some rather rough play on Hunters part (poor Micky!) So we have not been allowing it--zero. Today he tried a couple times. We tried a much less loud approach, leading him off by the collar, and having him sit next to Micky. Both times he did fine. The third time was here, as Micky was in the couch. All I said was "Hunter, off." He got down, then got up next to his friend in the sunny spot. Hunter needs calm, consistent, teachable moments.
