At the Belle Isle Conservatory in Detroit last year at this time. I have so many photos from the last 18 months that I just haven’t had the heart to go through completely because they were taken during a very difficult time in my life and they bring back memories of that time and awful things that went on then.

I was heading north to the Upper Peninsula. I love crossing the Mighty Mac and have done so in all kinds of weather. Since I was driving, I had my phone mounted on the dash and used voice commands to get each shot, hands-free and safely.
According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, at 8,614 feet (2,626 m), the Mackinac Bridge is still the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western Hemisphere.

We visited a few days before Christmas several years ago and found that the falls hadn't frozen over. The Upper Falls are approximately 200 feet across and a 50 foot drop to the Tahquamenon River.
