Faces reminiscent of Dreyer's style, reflections of a cruel feudal humanity subjected to Lutheran shackles, of a peasantry filled with darkness and violence. Bergman is not far off. Without a doubt, Haneke's best film.

Today's double feature is #DavidLynch's #LostHighway (forever my fav DL) and #MichaelHaneke's #Cache.

Our #CriterionCollection moviefor this evening was #MichaelHaneke's 2000 film "Code Unknown."
The story seed is an incident that occurred on a Parisian street. The film is comprised of short single take vignettes centered around that incident's characters.
The vignettes are fragments that start and stop suddenly.
The viewer has to assemble these pieces into a narrative while filling in the empty spaces between them; a sort of cinematic Gollin Figure Test.
Highly recommended.
