Their route was lined by the #SanctuaryRunners, where Irish ppl run alongside and in solidarity with, migrants, asylum seekers & refugees. Monica Pumpkin from Botswana presented #MichaelD & Sabina with yellow roses.

Michael D Higgins (Mícheál D Ó hUigínn) was born on 18 April 1941 in Limerick. He is the ninth and current President of Ireland (Uachtarán na hÉireann), having taken office on 11 November 2011. He is an academic and poet as well as being a fluent Irish speaker.
