Saw the new #MissionImpossible and enjoyed it very much.
I love the MI franchise... my favorite, perhaps controversial, movie take is that every MI movie except 2 is better than every post-1990 Bond movie except Goldeneye.
It's sad that #TomCruise is involved with -the cult-, but boy does he understand some fundamental art of action movie authenticity that so much of Hollywood seems to have forgotten. Just that perfect blend of tension, humor, and believability (just about!).

So I’ve watched all seven M:I movies. In order I’d rank them: 5-4-1-7-3-6-2
Finally, let me say that the key to enjoying movies in 2023 is AVOID ALL TRAILERS. I’d seen none of the M:I7 trailers (although I knew about the motorbike thing) and so I could properly enjoy it. I’ve avoided all of the Indiana Jones trailers too, want to see that soon. #MI7

Went to see Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One (or M:I7) and totally enjoyed it. Escapism, rollicking, a bit more background on the team and finally someone said “The IMF? The International Monetary Fund?” I enjoyed seeing the band together again, although Simon Pegg seems to have overtaken Tom Cruise in age.
My kid’s brilliant idea for a plot device, someone wearing two masks, was not used. They can have that for the next (final?) part. #MI7

OPPENHEIMER HAS ALL IMAX SCREENS IN NORTH AMERICA FOR 3 WEEKS
There is drama in access to Imax, and how IMAX's 401 North American screens will be divided between two box office draws, the other being Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible 7”
BUT there isn't much to negotiate. #MI7 is only playing on Imax screens 1 week before it has to relinquish all of its showtimes to #Oppenheimer.
Cruise isn't happy but there's only so many #IMAX screens
