  1. Coming home from the sea last night, I encountered the last few fans leaving the USC game. It is gonna be so weird here, with USC *and* UCLA in the Big Ten. When we first moved here, it felt like about 25% of the people we met had ties to UM - there is a huge fanbase in the area. I gotta get me a new Michigan t-shirt - maybe a hat, too! I suppose this does have the advantage of giving me two new "home" teams to cheer for when they play the evil teams.

  11. #MGOBLUE In Ann Arbor, Michigan, there is only one football game that really matters to fans: University of Michigan vs Ohio State University. UM can lose every other game, but not vs. OSU. Conversely, a loss is traumatic. I suspect the same is true for OSU fans. That is why today’s game is called “The Game” — there is no greater football rivalry. I was a UM faculty brat and went to every game from the age I could sit on my mother’s lap. You never forget hearing over 100,000 people roar as one!

  16. Right now Michigan (where both my parents and one of my brothers went, and where my dad and brother both pitched) is playing Oregon (where my wife went, in the state where I've lived for 34 years) in football.

    So I'm wearing my team's colors: #Michigan #Oregon #MichiganWolverines #OregonDucks #MGOBLUE

  28. Listening to the @[email protected] podcast "The Perfect Season" posted three days ago, and I am motivated to add my own list of amazing #MichiganFootball moments from this season they didn't mention.

    1) 1000 wins in Maryland. We've had a lot of crazy cool stats happen in the past twenty years, in the middle of tough seasons. To get to four digits in this championship season is amazing. The team was ready with celebratory signs, so it didn't matter that it wasn't in Ann Arbor.

    2) Sherrone Moore's interview after the Penn State game. I didn't even notice all the curse words because I could feel his emotions and I was nearly brought to tears myself. youtube.com/watch?v=CQs91yT9vI

    3) 5 sacks against Alabama in the first half of the Rose Bowl. I don't know all the football terms so I only follow the MGoBlog explanations so far, but I knew that getting to Milroe was vital because of what they said. Seeing that materialize was so validating that the MGoBlog analysis was right on. It was like being an MGoBlog reader for 18 years was paying off.

    4) Mike Sainristil double interception game against Maryland. I love when we pick them off and it was great to see two from Mikey.

There are so many more. What a great season! #MichiganWolverines #CollegeFootball #MGoBlue #MGoBlog

  30. @jeridansky I get it. I remember the Bo Schembechler era. Great memories. I also remember Woody Hayes from OSU, Bo’s comedic partner. To be sure, TBI was an unrecognized occupational hazard in those days. Now, the risk of #TBI from football is much better understood. Everyone is better informed. Is it fair to say that football players understand and accept the risk? Hard to say with certainty, but they are in a better place to decide for themselves. #GoBlue #MGOBLUE
