Anouk neemt het Metropole Orkest volgend jaar mee naar haar optredens in de Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. De concerten vinden plaats op vrijdagavond 4 en zondagmiddag 6 juni.
Politely reminded from someone's post that I need to continue to share my musical finds. Especially because inevitably when I bring some of them up, and they are not unpopular bands, people are unfamiliar. And I'd love people to be more familiar. :-)
Today's post is #SnarkyPuppy and the #MetropoleOrkest for a piece called Recurrent. Enjoy!
New #review today: "Itโs not often that a release by an orchestra can be legitimately categorized as #jazz, but #MetropoleOrkest is no ordinary orchestra. Over the 80s years since its founding, the orchestra has backed such diverse artists as Ella Fitzgerald, Adrian Belew, Dizzy Gillespie, Al Jarreau, Tori Amos, Bono, Brian Eno, Elvis Costello, Snarky Puppy, Todd Rundgren, Louis Cole, and dozens (if not hundreds) more. But Arakatak is a pure Metropole release with no celebrity soloists, though it features compositions by #DonnyMcCaslin, #TinekePostma, #LouisCole, and others. #MihoHazama takes the baton for a rousing set of big arrangements." #ExposeOnline http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/metropole-orkest-arakatak-2.html

End of the road for this part of our #MetropoleOrkest x #SolarOrbiter tour, with our fifth & final show in Tilburg ๐ณ๐ฑ
We saved the best for last & the kind audience gave us another standing ovation ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Itโs hard to express what an honour & privilege it has been to work with such lovely, talented people: I learned a lot & hopefully managed to share some of the wonders of the universe too.
Thank you & letโs do it again ๐ค
Soundcheck in the Tilburg Concertzaal for the last of our #MetropoleOrkest x #SolarOrbiter shows in the current run tonight ๐๐ฐ๏ธ๐ถ
Has been an enormous pleasure & privilege working with the orchestra & all the crew, along with conductor Jochen Neuffer, co-presenter Twan Huys, director Dirk de Bekker, & producer Friederike Darius ๐
I really hope we get to do more โ it has been very special ๐โโ๏ธ
Afternoon all.
Tonight in Tilburg is the last performance in the current run of our #MetropoleOrkest x #SolarOrbiter show ๐๐ฐ๏ธ๐ถ๐ญ
And as the climate change section has had a lot of positive response, just a reminder that if you buy the music I made with my friends AVAWAVES for #EarthPercent x #EarthDay2023, it all goes to environmental causes. Sameโs true for full 63 track compilation album ๐
Thank you ๐
No pressure then ๐ฌ
Tonightโs #MetropoleOrkest x #SolarOrbiter show is at the famous Carrรฉ theatre in Amsterdam ๐๐ฐ๏ธ๐ถ
Iโm told this is the Dutch version of playing the Royal Albert Hall or Carnegie Hall โฆ which is slightly daunting ๐คช
Another great show in Maastricht last night on our #MetropoleOrkest x #SolarOrbiter tour โ our best yet, Iโd say, & good preparation for the big one at the Carrรฉ tonight in Amsterdam ๐๐ฐ๏ธ๐ถ
A nice side benefit of this tour is seeing parts of The Netherlands Iโve never visited before โ Maastricht is a lovely city indeed.
T minus 10 minutes: our #MetropoleOrkest x #SolarOrbiter show tour continues tonight at the Theater aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht.
Such fun ๐๐ถ๐
Oh, the glamour of touring ๐คช
On the 385 bus to The Hague & then the train through Eindhoven to Maastricht for tonightโs #MetropoleOrkest x #SolarOrbiter show ๐๐ฐ๏ธ๐ถ
Buzzing from the first two shows in Emmen & The Hague โ great atmosphere & very kind audience response. Such a pleasure & a privilege ๐โโ๏ธ
Three to go.
p.s. Spot the excellent cycling infrastructure ๐๐ณ๐ฑ
Nice to have a day off in the middle of our tour & spend some time at home with my fellow sun travellers ๐ฝ
Back on the train tomorrow to Maastricht for the next show, then Amsterdam on Tuesday ๐๐ถ
