I like Metal Slug Tactics for the same reason i like Fighting games:

I get to pick a cool character, think about my choices, and then get exciting moments in pursuit of solid choices and calculated risks.

It's fun as hell. A lil tactics game where each run only takes a few hours, with plenty of places to put it down and come back. The Rogue like element means each run is different and though you can unlock new starting builds and characters, nothing carries over from run to run.

Ralf, Clark, and Fio (pictured) is the KOF team I've always wanted and will never get lol.

I wish my friends liked KOF enough for me to commit to it. sigh... Ralf Clark Vanessa...

I've been almost exclusively using #Linux (#Debian12) for the last few days. A lot of time just spent tinkering and making sure my #OneDrive synchronizes properly, but yesterday I played some more #MetalSlugTactics.

Also, installed the #PHP82 server and made sure #VSCode and all relevant extensions work properly, so I can start working on the website again without booting into Windows.

Tried to get #PHP 8.3 working, but ended up not knowing how to get the right version of a single dependency.

Welp. I couldn't (didn't) resist getting #MetalSlugTactics, so I guess that's what I'm playing alongside #SonicOriginsPlus right now.

Don't want to end up in a situation where I just bounce between whatever catches my attention at any given time again, which usually just leaves me with a ton of unfinished games and little satisfaction.

And I did have 3 games left in my Halloween collection on Steam that I never had the time to even try last month, but that's fine. Some other time.
