Back to my Mastodon studies today, with a second listen to Hushed and Grim (2021).
I really enjoyed this one. Pleasingly heavy and rhythmic, and this time it was the vocals that brought to mind bluesy 70s rock. Clearly more research is needed.

Continued with Mastodon the band today, listening to Crack the Skye (2009). Took a song or two to click, but I think it did.
It reminded me of blues-based hard rock from the '70s, but I didn't have the time or headspace to look into that thought.

Monday afterrnoon is a good time to try Mastodon - Leviathan.
I think this one is going to grow on me. 🐋
Best metal album of the 21st century? May take a few more listens before I can form a view about that.
