Já tem uns dias que terminei Metal Gear Solid 3, vou jogar todos os jogos principais da série em ordem cronológica. Fui na versão da Master Collection no Switch 2, e não sei se é impressão minha, mas achei que foi mais fácil dessa vez, apesar que já joguei esse jogo tantas vezes que decorei a maioria das partes. Mas segue sendo um jogão, dos melhores do PS2.

The Tigrovaya Balka nature reserve in southern Tajikistan really looks quite a lot like the forests in the game. There's even the right mountains nearby.
It would take a C-130 half an hour to fly over Afghanistan after going over the border from Pakistan rather than 3 minutes, but other than that, it actually checks out.

Para sorpresa de nadie finalmente volví a abandonar el #FinalFantasyXII. No es tan aburrido como lo recordaba, pero si adolece de todos los problemas que tenían los #JRPG: lentos y repetitivos. Y ya no tengo la paciencia ni el tiempo para abordarlos.
Así que aprovechando que se ha puesto de moda otra vez hace poco con su remake, acabo de empezar el #MetalGearSolid3 Subsistance en la #PS2 original por primera vez. Gráficamente es un portento para tratarse de un juego de hace casi 20 años. Veremos qué tal ha envejecido la historia y la jugabilidad.

Another fun build, and a fair bit sturdier than the REX build from the same creator. Feels not quite as "polished" (more bare studs where they don't look like they belong), but it looks good on the shelf next to REX either way.

Ayer estuve trasteando con la versión de Steam de #MetalGearSolid3, la de la Master Collection Volumen 1.
Todos sabemos que es una versión muy pobre que consiste en un triste port, sin mejoras, de la versión HD de Bluepoint Games publicada en 2012 para PlayStation 3 y Xbox 360.
Sin embargo, lo que no ha hecho Konami ha caído en las manos de la comunidad y ya existen mods que lo dejan fetén para ser disfrutado en compatibles.
En concreto, os recomiendo estos 4 mods con los cuales tendréis una experiencia aceptable para los estándares de un juego de 2023-2024:
- MGSFix: permite adaptar resoluciones nativas más allá de los 720p, añadir antialiasing, soporte ultrawide y otras cositas como saltarse las intros.
- Better Audio Mod: arregla los problemas del audio de esta versión.
- MGS3 Crouch Walk: nos permite caminar agachados, como en N3DS
- Upscaled Textures (AI Slop): mejora todas las texturas del juego al doble de resolución.
