The clothing retailer BooHoo is using them for password and sign-in services.
This is the third service where SMS messages go missing that are all linked to Meta.BooHoo shows Meta as being part of their system on their site when you go to "Contact Us".
Yahoo uses them (WhatsApp) in account security as an alternate means of regaining access to / unlocking an account.
The UK Government uses WhatsApp for stupid reasons.Now ... I did tell Meta to fuck off ages ago but the issue here is a bunch of very stupid people using the services of a very stupid person to become involved in "security".
The Emergency Alert system in the UK is handled by Meta! 👍UK gov also uses actual phone companies that run telecommunications infrastructure like "BT" and Vodafone, but Meta's WhatsApp (and Microsoft's two-factor authentication/verification) runs using those networks.
Anyway, this is just poor security work.
