Another favorite ancient deity of ours associated with lions is Isthar / Inanna, who we met on the pod all the way back in Season 1 in our Taurus episode.
Here she is seemingly walking a lion on a leash like the epic warrior/love/ date (the fruit) / wool / rain (etc) goddess she is!

Here's a tiny, lovely, 15cm long clay #Neolithic boat that was excavated at As-Sabiyah (Kuwait). It is a schematic, but closely conveys the shape of ancient reed-bundle boats. It dates from between 5500 and 5000 BCE.
It combines elements typical of the #Arabian Neolithic and the southern #Mesopotamian Ubaid.

I'm serious about learning #cocktail methods and recently I've been studying frozen cocktails.
I've now seen multiple sources that make reference to the ancient Mesopotamians making frozen cocktails. I find this fairly hard to believe, and so far all the links that supposedly go to the source of this "fact," come up dry.

Beginning in the 3rd millennium B.C., Akitu was one of the oldest #Mesopotamian festivals. Interestingly, it has some similarities with later #festivals, such as the 12 days of #Christmas in the #European tradition. Of course, there were many different rituals, including one that deals with the Ordeals of Gods and Kings. There were ceremonies in temples and an assembly in the city of #Babylon.
The #Jewish New Year festival may be derived from Akitu as well.
