Back in 2015~ I used to read a tech magazine published in Italy, and a thing from it has been stuck in my head:
It was a mesh network, but unlike Meshtastic, its main purpose was file sharing (yes, that kind, but also things like guides or recipes)
I think the name was bird-themed?Anyone remember?

So I just installed a sneaky guerilla Meshcore repeater so I can get over the Stanmore/Petersham hill. It seems to be working though my connection from home to it isn't as rock solid as I'd like...
I have another, much better, repeater I could install if you know anyone who lives on the Stanmore of Petersham hill which would give even better coverage!
I'd been playing around with Meshtastic for ages with the same frustration around that hill, but it seems Meshcore is much more established here in Sydney. Just that the most findable site about setting for NSW gives you the wrong radio config. (Australia (Narrow) is the preset you want.)
Anyone on here on the mesh?

Ну вот и прилетело обновление Yggdrasil!

Changelog обещает, что теперь путь будет вычисляться легче и выбираться короче. Пока в дороге и не могу это проверить, но смотрится очень интересно. Grafana покажет.🙂

@photosbykyle there are also other open-source #mesh_network software. #zerotier is one of them. #Tailscale is a great mesh VPN, with lots of nice features but there are a decent amount of competitors that will work too. #headscale isn't the only option, Just the easiest.
