CW: Raptor predation
I live near Mercer Meadows in central New Jersey which is fantastic place to walk and to bird. I was out looking for northern harriers but found instead this merlin dining on a starling. In the few minutes I spent watching and photographing, the light changed to a lovely golden hue.
