On 29 March, the #Mals/Malles 🇮🇹 - #Meran/Merano railway line reopened for passenger service after five months of construction works. However, the electrification works are not yet finished and DMUs are still in operation.

Due to technical issues, currently only a two-hourly service is provided, an most of the trains run only between Lasa/Laas and #Merano/Meran.

By train to #Meran/Merano 🇮🇹 today. This is where the electrified line from #Bozen/Bolzano ends: passengers for the (still) dieselized section upstream through #Vinschgau/Venosta have to change trains. Scheduled connections are extremely tight, just three minutes, but they work.

Schwiegereltern (überzeugte Autofahrer) waren in der Gegend von #Meran (IT). Touristen bekommen da einen #ÖPNV Fahrschein gratis. Busse fahren alle 15 Minuten überall hin. Schwiegereltern nutzen begeistert den Bus.
