Was heute auf diesem alten Grabstein in der Sint-Gertrudiskerk in Bergen op Zoom fast makaber wirkt, hatte eine klare Botschaft: „Gedenke, dass du sterben musst.“
Wappen erzählen von Herkunft und gesellschaftlichem Rang – der Totenkopf erinnert daran, dass am Ende auch all das vergänglich ist.
Gerade dieser Gegensatz macht solche historischen Grabplatten für mich so faszinierend.

@rolle @harald There are many aspects to "when ansible". Sometimes even when there are very few servers but rarely touched, it makes sense. In this case it's also about backup. I have been doing ansibles to describe mementomori.social setup. I never took full look what is there. Now when we turn it into ansible, it is clear for all what got installed and how. Also changes become documented. And if we loose a server we can quickly rebuild it from git. Only data needs backup. Or if we would scale up, we get similar servers built by automation and traffic paths reconfigured.
At home it serves me just a reminder how something was built.
So if you would share responsibiloities for those 60 servers, it would work as documentation and would make them all more similar, easier to maintain in group. Also molecule can be used to test the automation.

I was introduced to death before turning ten.
A boy around my age was electrocuted in his front yard while picking almonds with a iron hook: my first real lesson about the #impermanence of all things.
I've died metaphysically many times since and learned that nothing truly belongs to me, never did; not even my sense of belonging.
Now at 52, I know that one cannot carry anything as you ascend. Not even a sense of you I am, as that too constantly changes.

Una muerte repentina podía resultar desconcertante.
Un cadáver podía presentar cambios después de morir que los familiares no comprendían.
La piel podía retraerse.
El cuerpo podía hincharse.
Podían aparecer fluidos alrededor de la boca o la nariz.
El cabello y las uñas parecían crecer.
Para alguien que no conociera los procesos naturales de la descomposición, un cadáver podía parecer casi capaz de volver a la vida.
Anna Maria quedó enterrada en aquel mundo.
No sabemos que fuera una bruja.
No sabemos que practicara satanismo.
No sabemos siquiera con absoluta seguridad por qué se colocaron aquellas bandas sobre su cuerpo.
Pero sí sabemos que las bandas existieron.
Sabemos que pertenecía a una familia aristocrática.
Sabemos cuándo nació, con quién se casó y cuándo murió.
Y sabemos que su extraordinario ataúd ha sobrevivido hasta nuestros días.
Hoy forma parte de la colección del Museum für Sepulkralkultur de Kassel, el Museo de Cultura Sepulcral, dedicado precisamente a la historia de la muerte, los funerales y las costumbres funerarias.
Y ahí está la parte que más me gusta de esta historia.
Internet convirtió a Anna Maria von Stockhausen en una supuesta bruja atada dentro de un ataúd para que no volviera.
La realidad es bastante más silenciosa.
Era una joven aristócrata de 25 años que murió en 1761 y recibió un elaborado entierro en una época en la que los vivos todavía tenían miedo de que algunos muertos no se quedaran donde debían.
Quizá las correas fueron una medida contra ese miedo.
Quizá tuvieron otra función.
No lo sabemos.
Pero después de más de dos siglos, Anna Maria sigue dentro de su ataúd.
Y esta vez no ha sido ella quien ha salido de la tumba.
Ha sido su historia.

"Humans use the word planet to describe those big chunks of star stuff, chunks like the one they're at. The word planet stems from Ancient Greek πλανήτης which means „wanderer“, as in, moving in a lost manner. It's quite ironic because the planets are but lost: they got a mathematically deterministic trajectory, a very specific aphelion and perihelion, their velocities in relationship to their star can be calculated as easy as Keplerian math goes. But, then, something would benefit of the „wanderers” label: the ones who defined this word, the ones defining and using words to define things in this constant attempt to try and define themselves. Because, as it turns out, they've been pretty lost since the dawn of times. Crowley defined "every man and woman" as a "star": in practice, "every man and woman" is actually a planet, a wanderer, chunks of star stuff moving through the dark veil of spacetime continuum in such a lost manner, uncertain about their perihelion, afraid about their aphelion."
