  1. Done a #blog!

    blog.smithfamily.org.uk/posts/

About how I'm working towards full fat tuning software for #Speeduino and #Megasquirt ECUs that runs in a browser.

  2. I'm having a surprising amount of fun writing an INI and MSQ parser in Javascript for #Megasquirt and #Speeduino ECUs

  3. Help me #WeirdCarMastodon you're my only hope!

I'm trying to get my head around VE optimisation for #Megasquirt and #Speeduino but I'm struggling to interpret the results.

#blog post on blog.smithfamily.org.uk/posts/ about what I'm trying to achieve.

Anyone want to dive into data with me?

  4. Hmm, perhaps something like this running TunerStudio would be useful when doing pulls and adjusting maps. Much less bulky than a laptop on your lap or in the passenger seat.

No comment on the PITA factor!

That said, was toying with the idea of making my garage "Artoo" unit mobile on wheels and batteries for moving to the cars instead of moving the cars to the computer, or using a laptop.

Future project to mess around with perhaps.

  5. I don't know what to do next...

I could try another ebay #ECU, pour another $100 down the drain, and pray that it's not fried too.

I could try to replace the original ECU and wiring with a modern #MegaSquirt ECU.

I could tear all the fucking #fuelinjection shit out, find some #carburetors, linkage, manifolds, and low pressure fuel pump.

I could buy a $20k electric conversion kit.

I could set it on fire and roll it into the Columbia river.

My fun summer car. Lightly modified RX7.....
550+ HP, 2635 lbs full fluids

EVERYTHING was done by myself, except the machining of the block, because I lack the machine. haha. But, all welding, all engine rebuild, all planning for engine tolerances, etc, done by me. I absolutely love learning, and anyone can do whatever they put their mind to.

Not only did I learn more about building a computer to run everything on the car, but I also learned how to tune it. Spark and fuel curves, all the idle parameters and adjustments for throttle in various areas, etc.

Just an overall fun canyon carver. Amazing torsen lsd makes putting that power down sooo smooth in the corners.

    Mods:
Megasquirt 3 ECU (built myself, tuned myself)
Summit +2cc domed pistons w/ valve relief
    PRC 2.5 5.3L heads @ 58cc (valves: I:2.02",E:1.57")
    Dual valve springs, titanium retainers
    TSP 228R 112LSA
    Bore is 3.81 (.030 over)
    Block was decked down 0.004
    Eagle H-beam rods
    rotating assembly balanced
    JTR Longtube headers
    X-pipe
    Magnaflow something mufflers... haha
    LS6 intake manifold
    52# injectors
    DW 300 fuel pump
    dual feed / return fueling
    Aeromotive FPR
Light weight flywheel, clutch and pressure plate upgrade, just don't remember what to...
Ford 8.8 IRS with Torsen T2R LSD
    3.73 ratio on rear
    2006 GTO T56
    Stoptech rotors
Hawk HP plus (I think) pads
    KYB AGX
