After the reviews, I've decided to skip The Bride at the theater because I can't justify the expense.
Just being aware of, or having some understanding or personal experience with, an issue isn't enough to create a compelling, or even coherent, story.
Megalopolis, and One Battle After Another (despite the praise by white people), are similar examples.
Visual confections lacking all substance.

I saw Megalopolis in 15/70 IMAX and loved the experience.
The dialogue, plot, editing, and philosophy of "let's get along with fascists", are a mess, but his visual artistry is astounding, and he included many little touches paying homage to the history of the art form.
I believe this will be considered a "rediscovered" masterpiece someday.

Finished watching Foundation season 3 last night and, like #Megalopolis, the show is beautiful to watch but the writing is terrible and the story is a mess.
It's another Apple TV failure. They put out lots of shows with interesting premises but almost always fail to deliver, at least on all elements.
Even Slow Horses lost it when Slough House beat the Dogs' best with one handgun 😑
