  1. One of the things that makes Baru iylwenpeny so special is that we have a lot of it. There are seven skulls, and dozens of postcranial bones This makes it the single most completely known mekosuchine crocodile in Australia, if not the world (there are apparently a lot of Mekosuchus inexpectatus bones - but little of it is published and I don't think there is a whole skull known).

  2. Today I had the pleasure of attending the opening of Engawala Art Centre. Engawala is an Aboriginal community very close to the Alcoota fossil site. We have been working together with the artists of Engawala, to sell some of their work at Megafauna Central, and bringing the artists to the fossils so that they may create Alcoota-themed works. 1/2
