I’m living with Lupus, a serious autoimmune disease.
Due to the war & lack of medication, my health is getting worse.
I now suffer from memory loss, constant headaches, dizziness, & vision problems.I feel like I’m slowly fading, & I can’t afford the treatment I desperately need.
Please, help me get my life back.Your support means the difference between pain and relief, between fear & hope.
I’m in urgent need of medicine & your kindness could save me.#HelpGaza #LupusAwareness #MedicalSupport -
"Everything we source, purchase, and provide is already in Gaza. But stocks are running out. This is why otherwise free medication and supplies are sold at exorbitant prices and must be searched for across numerous pharmacies and medical suppliers. We have the network of nurses and doctors to help us provide what others cant. This work should be done by large relief organizations and iNGOs but because of the difficulty operating in Gaza and since the borders are closed, many are rendered useless and it has fallen on The Sameer Project to fill the gaps left by them."

I've been seeing my GP for near 30 years. He's in his seventies and always been pretty healthy but his long term locum of twenty years retired recently and he's now in his practice by himself.
He's often told me how difficult it is to get insurance and further how complex it has become just to stay in practice, that it is common among peers and colleagues to take early retirement or/and otherwise leave the field.
I don't know what else to say except that the idea he may retire (something he's always said he has no interest in doing) generates a fear in me I've not experienced since I was a small child. Without the support of this man I have zero doubt my life would be very different today, immeasurably worse.
We really should be thinking about how we can ensure GPs feel supported in this country, it never seems to come up when folks campaign for office.

The pilot program Eddie’s Place has served over 100 patients since May. Ken Der explains that the program, "provides care to medically frail, unhoused guests who are discharged from an emergency room...or who require continuing medical care and recuperation space following hospitalization."
