Delaware’s medical end-of-life option should soon come online.
“Signed into law this past spring, the Ron Silverio/Heather Block End of Life Options Law allows terminally ill patients who have six months or fewer to live the choice to request and receive medication that will “end the individual’s life in a humane and dignified manner,” according to the law’s text. Individuals are unable to qualify based on age or disability.”

HB140, End of Life Options, just passed in the #Delaware House and now has to go before the Senate and get the Governor's signature.
Rather than changing minds, Dr Varipapa switches the conversation to the important ethical concept of patient autonomy and choice as well as the primary concepts of MAID. Dr Vest provides a counterpoint to MAID.
Those who oppose MAID have concerns about the ‘slippery slope’, something which has not been demonstrated in Oregon or the other 10 states that permit MAID.

Committee clears way for House vote on medical-aid-in-dying legislation
“A bill to create medically-prescribed end-of-life options for terminally ill patients is again up for discussion in the Delaware General Assembly.

If people spent as much time thinking about how they might die as they do about, say, their retirement, many more nations would already have legalised assisted dying.
Too many people with terminal illnesses are condemned to a lingering painful #Death, denied of dignity, in a faceless hospital ward.
