  1. This was the very first soundcard I owned. Not this exact one, but tue same or very similar model. Utilizing the MediaVision Jazz16 chipset and a Yamaha OPL3 it had SoundBlaster Pro compatibility (which the SB16 didn’t have) and under Windows, OS/2 and Linux(!) back in 1994/1995 also 16 bit 44KHz Stereo sound, giving you CD quality audio. It was mostly jumperless and was configured through a driver loaded at boot time.

  2. Legend of Heroes II: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch, released on the PSP in 2006 and is the second release in the U.S. for this trilogy series.

Shame this didn’t get more releases on other platforms to reach a wider audience.

In the early days of #DigitalAudio , in 1991-1992 I got to coordinate FCC compliance certification testing for #MediaVision sound cards. This was at an outdoor facility on a small plot of land next to small farms. At one point, I had played a stock audio track of a cowboy corralling some cows, and the cows in the nextdoor farm came to the fence and stared mooing back.

I look forward to seeing if and how a particular cat will react to this.

While I worked for Media Vision in what must have been late 1991 or early 1992, someone (in Germany, I think) made a beautiful program that played Amiga sound module (.mod) files on our #ProAudioSpectrum sound cards.

It was so cool that we bought a license from the author to bundle it with new cards (for maybe $50k!).

Ironically, #MediaVision was the subject of its own scandal.

If someone ever makes a documentary about it, maybe they'll use stock tracking software instead. ;P
