If you speak in the media for a charity or non-profit, these are 5 questions to ask yourself first:

@efarris Experts, academics or not, should never do media interviews unless they get #mediatraining. They need to know more about the #journalist and #newsoutlet, the precise nature of the interview, how to field problematic questions, and how to answer questions effectively and demonstrate their expertise free of jargon and long rambling answers. If your university or any organization asks you do to media interviews, you can insist on receiving such training from a #PR pro first.
