Since I'm on a bit of a #MediaPreservation kick, here's an obscure thing that was so scrubbed from the internet that I don't even know why it was.
Back in the day, I wasn't just a person who made music with Renoise. I was in the Renoise forums, listening to other people's music, including an Australian producer by the handle of mr_mark_dollin. One of his works that really stuck in my head was Summertime in Bureaucratic Proportions, a lonely gray and bruised piece about being loved by someone in a way that isn't really love.
I thought I lost this, because I'd uploaded all my files to Google Play Music, and lost them when Google discontinued this in favor of YouTube Music. Evil company. That particularly hurt, because it was the era I slowly came to realize I was in a marriage that felt the way SiBP felt. I was that wife.
Eventually I got lucky and found my old music trove on the hard drive of my college netbook! Thank you for your service, Morgan. Your 1GB RAM could never curtail your spirit.

I got tired of TV shows and movies cluttering up my commercials, so I built software that deletes them automatically.

Today I convinced a room of people to illegally copy their DVDs and Blu-Rays
I'm pretty passionate about data preservation. Now, I wanna be clear. I'm NOT a pirate. I never download anything from illegal torrent sites. I like to make sure I have backups of my DVDs and Blu-Rays, mostly because I've been affected by disc rot before. It's becoming increasingly relevant though. Here's a New York Times article which talks about the process that one company goes through to preserve valuable recordings. It seems that tapes from before 1970 have fewer problems, a lot of tapes from the 70s and 80s are deteriorating fairly quickly. (Gift link)

Hey Fedi Friends, anyone have experience fighting with YouTube over copyright bullshit? I’m not entirely convinced this isn’t a troll and it’s taken down my whole channel, including some other endangered shows and my podcasts.
My main concerns being that I’d think Hasbro would have in-house lawyers, not some solo rando, and the original copyright ping when I uploaded them was from Hasbro Studios, not Hasbro, Inc.

I really should look into making a training model specifically for the style of 80s action cartoons, and maybe a robot-specific one trained on things with existing 1080p+ masters like TFTM and GaoGaiGar.
