  3. The latest from #MediaMonitoring: two episodes in, Mrs. Davis is a wild ride into the battle over humanity’s very soul. Or it’s just a game.

Or maybe one nun’s childhood of making marks and stage magic really is the weaponized faith needed to take down an omnipotent AI…

  4. The latest from #MediaMonitoring: The second episode of season 2 of Yellowjackets started a bit scattershot, a bunch of ideas that spread lazily through the first 75% of its runtime.

But, oh yes, it snapped back with a taught and delicious vengeance!

    It’s still the real deal.

  5. What's the latest from #MediaMonitoring? Succession Season 04.

That branding presentation for The Hundred was definitely taken from lived experience.

  6. #MediaMonitoring from the ravenous 90’s desk: I am so glad to be back with my twisted little Yellowjackets.

  7. The latest from #MediaMonitoring: Huesera: The Bone Woman (2023) is an absolutely fantastic horror film that expertly weaves together familial expectations, body horror, queer identity, and brujas!

    Recommended.

  8. The latest from #MediaMonitoring: the game version of tonight’s episode of The Last of Us was far and away a better emotional moment.

I noticed Druckmann wrote tonight’s TV version. I felt nothing, verging on dismissing it outright.

  9. From the #MediaMonitoring drawer-less desk: Skinamarink was absolutely fantastic in establishing mood within the spaces in between horror, through the grainy formlessness of memory waking up into disorienting inexperience.

  10. #MediaMonitoring, The Last of Us desk: this was a proper episode of television.

  11. The latest from #MediaMonitoring:

M3GAN had the sheen and tight pacing of Malignant, but in an accessible to a new-to-horror audience package.

    Great stuff.

  12. #MediaMonitoring: The Last of Us S01 E02 really captured what it was like to fight off a pair of clickers in a museum in Boston.

I think what pulls me out *most* while watching this show is the action being framed by over-the-shoulder/up close framing.

  13. This concludes tonight’s mushroom mon–I mean #MediaMonitoring.

  14. #MediaMonitoring, Jinkies desk: The thing about Velma is it’s made by 40 somethings who remember watching Adult Swim cartoons 20 years ago.

I notice the people who like it least *are a much younger demographic*.

  15. Latest from the retro future of #MediaMonitoring: White Noise (2022) isn’t nearly as bad as people have been gleefully reporting, but it’s not a tentpole streaming media release.

Last act doesn’t even come close to sticking, but the ride there was entertaining.

  16. Fresh from #MediaMonitoring:

The Menu didn’t quite satiate like its amuse-bouche starter– got a little chewy after the first courses.

By desert, I was glad for the reservation, just didn’t feel the need to post a photo of my meal.

    (That was a metaphor-course meal.)

  17. The latest from #MediaMonitoring: #HisDarkMaterials stuck the landing and did something I thought was impossible!

Epic doesn’t even begin to encompass the scope of the series and how well they captured it.

  18. Latest from #MediaMonitoring:

Dragon Age: Absolution started flat, but by the end, I was really into the characters and story. Great action animation.

At 6 episodes, it’s not a huge commitment, either!
