In celebration of the upcoming #2024SummerOlympics, we’re recognizing one of the most iconic American athletes, #JesseOwens.

Owens, an American track and field star, won four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games, famously challenging Hitler’s myth of Aryan supremacy.

In a 1979 interview with Iowa Public Television, Owens reflected that he had bigger things to focus on: making his dream come true.

"Say Brother" began in 1968 during the height of the civil rights movement as a response to the demand for public television programs reflecting the concerns of communities of color.

Now known as "Basic Black," over 80 historical episodes are available to watch online featuring African-American artists, athletes, performers, politicians, and writers.
