  1. over the last few weeks ive been having a conversation with "Joshua" and a few others on causality, mechanistic modeling, Bayesian inference, and observational/pseudo experimental data on Gelmans blog. Because of the limitations of nesting on WordPress it goes for a while and restarts on different threads etc. easiest way is to start at this link then find my name on the page after reading this thread and read other threads #Bayesian #statistics #mechanistic

  12. Since it’s the new year, I figure an #introduction is in order. My name is Taylor, and I’m entering my final year as a #CompBio PhD candidate at Cornell.
    My research is primarily focused on using #ML to understand #regulation of gene expression in grasses. I am particularly interested in #representation and #mechanistic modeling.
    My other interests include science in the media, supporting Black scientists, and trivia podcasts.
    I hope to have some great discussions on here! :dna: :rna:

  14. Meet Dr Emily Warren, 1st author of new #OpenAccess paper from Dr Eric Morrow's lab at #BrownUniversity

    They developed the 1st lab model of 17q12 deletion syndrome, a copy number variant disorder associated with #neurodevelopmental disorders and #RenalCysts and #diabetes syndrome. The #MouseModel recapitulated many features of the human disorder & will be used to guide #clinical & #mechanistic studies

    This means I teach for a significant part of my time (maths, genetics) at the #IUTLyon1

    In my research I study #evolution with models (#popgen, #adaptivedynamics) more #mechanistic than usual – often this leads me to study #evolution in/of biological #networks
