  1. "Yes, how can I #help you?" Natalia continued the conversation patiently, although she was growing #irritated . She knew what would be said next.

    "Isn't there a male #mechanic the man asked, confirming her #prediction .

  2. Got an old #Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 #tablet I was gifted by a relative a few years back (he upgraded to a newer one).

I use it mostly to read #PDF documents of scanned #books about #oldtimers , #mechanic work and #electronics (so these are quite big PDF files).

Normal #AdobeReader is laggy on this old device, and I don't need the #AI bullshit bundled with it.

Can anyone suggest a better PDF reader for Android with 0 ads, decent privacy and good performance?

  3. So, when we had the car serviced like 6 months ago they asked if we wanted the air filters changed for an extra $150. I said no, and have bought the air filters to change them myself (they cost like $24 each). There's an engine one and a cabin one, and I've watched a bunch of YouTube clips to learn how to change them both.

But, in watching all those clips I also saw a clip where a mechanic was making a joke. In the clip he took the glove box out to change the cabin filter behind it, and when he did the filter was covered with very obviously fake plastic spiders.. he screamed and jumped out of the car.

...but now I, an arachnophobe, feel really nervous about changing the air filter!

Can some car people please let me know that there are definitely no spiders in the cabin air filter behind the glove box in my car (or warn me that there might be...)?

  4. In all my free time (🤣), I've turned into an accidental #HomeNetworking hobbyist, run the automated weekly build system for #OpenWRT fork #ROOter, spoil the giant pile of needy #sheepdogs, and play #mechanic on anything that doesn't run away from me fast enough. Any time left after that is usually "spotting" mechanical things, if it's machinery I'm probably interested. Some #planespotting (also an #ADSB collector), #shipspotting, and grew up #trainspotting (#railfan for Americans).
