Cooked Swedish "meatballs" from #VeganWithBite cookbook for dinner. The balls did not remain balls during cooking, so I made the gravy then mixed it together. Bowl of delicious mush for dinner.
The "meat" was a dried veg protein mix that is reconstituted with water and a little oil. Not sure if a different product would have been more successful, or if the problem is me. (I often have structural problems with balls (meatballs, lentil balls, falafel) and patties (bean, lentil, veg, meat)... So maybe it is just me!)

@jcmacomber @ultranurd agree, many of them manage to look like meat products, but fail in taste and texture. One exception is Beyond Meat, that's pretty good.
In dishes like curries I prefer to replace meat with nuts or paneer/halloumi. When I miss meat in a dish, it's more the texture than the taste.
I do eat meat every now and then, but never from factory farming sources. If I can't be sure, I skip it altogether. -
This is quite good news: in Holland meat replacement products are now for the first time cheaper than the meat they intend to replace!
