HB-165’s permanent DST would delay Maryland sunrise past 8am for over 3 months. It cost lives in 1974. Maryland Association of Boards of Education, Maryland Sleep Society, Agudath Israel of Maryland, American Medical Association, National Safety Council, and dozens more oppose pDST and endorse permanent Standard Time instead.
