CW: Mental Health Journey
So I’ve been diagnosed with #GAD, #MDD, #PanicDisorder over the years. A therapist once described me as “a garden-variety neurotic.” (This will be the title of my autobiography all rights reserved.)
I’m now convinced it’s all C-PTSD / Religious Trauma Syndrome and like… it’s a mind fuck.
Turns out being raised queer in the #Catholic Church is traumatic.
Anyway EMDR is working and it’s still quite a journey ahead but hey, it’s progress.

Folks, it’s a goddamned miracle; I’m fully cured. Colleague at work declared that I “don’t look like I have autism” and “don’t really act depressed”. Will wonders ever cease! Turns out all I needed to do to escape these issues is to just have someone tell me to not think about it! 🫠Funnily enough, he was quick to change the subject when I asked what he thought this hypothetical person would look like. Maybe it’s all a myth, and people don’t exist at all?

Just took my cat into the vet and we are starting her on a pill for her asthma. Shots and everything was around $260. But she's worth it. I don't know what I'd do without my Athena. She's my familiar and companion animal. Helps with my #CPTSD #MDD #Anxiety etc. Animals are great. Better than people.

A Pi 5 goes even further, and a modern M-series chip is like 100x the G4's performance!

Got ‘er open, and was able to watch the #ZipDrive attempt to load the heads. It tries twice, and gives up. It doesn’t look like it’s moving far enough to get stuck on anything (as some others had reported happening), so I wonder if this is a power issue? Seems odd my #G4 #MDD wouldn’t have enough current as it’s got no spinning drives, but I’ll gonna try these drives in another PC tomorrow. #retrocomputing

I’m having a hell of a time getting this Zip drive to work. #G4 #MDD came with an ATAPI Zip750. After that didn’t work, I bought a new, sealed Zip250 drive. I’ve tried it with 4 or 5 sealed zip100 disks, and the only one that will register 1 out of 6 tries is (I think coincidentally) a Mac formatted one.
On all failed attempts, the drive spins up, I get two pairs of clicks, and then nothing.
Well, I did want the authentic Zip disk experience, I suppose I’m getting it!
Any ideas?
