Trump said he will request a $1.5 trillion defense budget for FY27. (Total national security spending is already much higher, blowing past the $1 trillion mark many years ago.)

House Democrats from states that Trump has threatened with National Guard presence voted for the GOP defense policy bill that further enmeshes the military domestically.

- George Whitesides of #CA27, north of L.A.
- Laura Gillen of #NY04, in Long Island
- April Delaney of #MD06, an hour west of Baltimore

House GOP denied votes on all Democratic amendments to the NDAA, including on limiting troop usage.

2:30pm UPDATE - There's been a change! A previously "leans GOP" counted race has flipped and been called by the AP: #MD06 has been won by Krone (D).

This changes the House vote count from GOP 220-215 Dem, to 219-216 Dem, with several outstanding races yet to have their votes fully counted.

For Dems to win control, they must win at least 2 of:

A narrow window.

There's no path to a Dem Victory without that.
