In her 143-page ruling, U.S. District #Judge #ColleenMcMahon called out the agency created by #President #DonaldTrump specifically for its targeting of Jewish projects, including #Holocaust #research.

“At a time when the specter of #antisemitism has reemerged from the shadows, for our Government to deem a project about #Jewishwomen disfavored because it centered on ‘Jewish cultures’ and ‘female’ voices is deeply troubling,” wrote #McMahon, who was appointed by President #BillClinton in 1998. She was referring specifically to a canceled “project on Jewish #women subjected to slave labor during the Holocaust.”

They can't pick up the tab anymore for the education of our students ... why are you in this job at all if you don't have dedication to the future of our children?"

  11. Proximity to sexual abuse and scandal increasingly looks like a prerequisite for joining Trump’s upcoming Cabinet.

President-elect Donald Trump made yet another surprising pick on Tuesday,
naming former World Wrestling Entertainment CEO #Linda #McMahon as his intended nominee for education secretary.

McMahon, along with her husband, #Vince #McMahon, helped turn the WWE into the pervasive entertainment product that has become intertwined with modern North American culture.
Trump was a good friend to the McMahons during this time, even getting in the ring for the “Battle of the Billionaires” in 2007.

Linda McMahon stepped down from WWE in 2009 and launched herself in conservative politics,
serving on the Connecticut State Board of Education and running two unsuccessful campaigns for Senate in 2010 and 2012.
She then became a Republican megadonor, and was rewarded with an administrator position at the Small Business Administration in Trump’s first-term Cabinet.
On Tuesday, she was rewarded once again.
“Linda will use her decades of Leadership experience, and deep understanding of both Education and Business, to empower the next Generation of American Students and Workers, and make America Number One in Education in the World,” Trump wrote in a statement.
“We will send Education BACK TO THE STATES, and Linda will spearhead that effort.”

But much like Trump Cabinet picks #Pete #Hegseth and #Matt #Gaetz, McMahon has troubling skeletons in her closet.
The WWE has long been known for its highly questionable, borderline abusive work environment.
    Linda McMahon and Vince McMahon
—from whom she is now reportedly separated
—are being sued by five anonymous plaintiffs who served as “ring boys,” essentially teenage stagehands.
The ring boys allege that they were being sexually abused by WWE wrestlers Pat Patterson and Terry Garvin.
The suit states that both Linda and Vince knew exactly what was happening to the ring boys but did little, if anything, to stop it.
Vince faces even more damaging allegations of sexual assault, trafficking, and more.
And although these are separate from Linda, almost all of these accusations date from when Linda was leading the WWE.
Trump has yet to comment on the allegations.
Linda McMahon also falsely claimed in 2009 on a candidate questionnaire for the Connecticut Board of Education that she had a bachelor’s degree in education,
-- when she only has a certificate.
Per The Washington Post’s recap of the incident, she resigned from the board as soon as she heard that local journalists intended to make her error public,
but claimed the timing of her resignation was merely coincidental.

If confirmed as education secretary, McMahon will be charged with carrying out Trump’s plan for the Department of Education:
    specifically, to kill it completely.

  12. the fascist regime is nominating terrible people for extremely powerful positions as a test of loyalty for Republican senators.

It won't happen, but it would be very funny if Majority Leader Thune found a way to reject those nominations by voice vote, which would avoid calling the roll and recording who voted for/against who :-)

  13. After the Bitcoin event in Nashville,
Trump brought Lutnick on board his plane, Trump Force One,
to a campaign stop in Minnesota, where Lutnick introduced Vance.

Lutnick later told an interviewer that travelling to a rally with the former President was
like “going to a rock concert with Mick Jagger.”

During the trip, Lutnick said, Trump offered him a formal role as co-chair of his Presidential transition team.

The decision was announced a few weeks later,
after the fund-raiser at Lutnick’s Bridgehampton home.

    Another co-chair is #Linda #McMahon,
the former head of the Small Business Administration in the Trump Administration.

She, too, is a wealthy donor who, according to federal records, has given more than $10 million to support Trump in 2024.

That same month, Trump announced that he and his sons
    Don, Jr., and Eric
were getting into the crypto business themselves.

    #Steve #Witkoff, a New York real-estate mogul and a major Trump donor,
who testified on Trump’s behalf during his civil fraud trial this year,
    helped set up the venture,
    called "World Liberty Financial".

One of the entrepreneurs brought in as a partner,
#Chase #Herro, was later revealed to have referred to himself as
    “the dirtbag of the Internet.”

    Trump, during a rambling two-hour live-stream rollout on X,
struggled to describe how exactly the new business would work,
or even when it would launch.

“Crypto is one of those things we have to do,” he said.

“Whether we like it or not.”

By then, Lutnick’s sphere of influence had moved well beyond bitcoin.

In October, he told the Financial Times that appointees in a second Trump Administration would be subject to a strict
    ❌“loyalty” test
to avoid the kinds of senior aides who sought to constrain Trump during his first term.

“Those people were not pure to his vision,” Lutnick said.

“We’re going to give people the role based on their capacity
—and their fidelity and loyalty to the policy, as well as to the man.”

  18. THE OTHER THINK TANK:

While Heritage’s ill-fated #Project2025 has gotten all the headlines, another outside group has been quietly plugging away at transition efforts with much less fanfare.

    The ♦️America First Policy Institute♦️ ( #AFPI )
has (smartly) avoided #Heritage’s braggadocio -- but has similarly done mountains of #unofficial #transition work while maintaining close ties to Trump:
#Linda #McMahon chairs the group’s board, and CEO #Brooke #Rollins is Trump’s former Domestic Policy Council director and has been personally in touch with the former president.

    Operating outside the Trump campaign,
🔸AFPI has interviewed more than 1,000 potential administration hires,
🔸drafted scores of executive actions Trump could quickly sign and
🔸solicited recommendations for the first 100 days of a second Trump term.

“AFPI is not becoming the transition,” one insider told Hailey and Meridith. “But by virtue of how they are situated and that we are in a very late timeline for this work, AFPI and the transition may be a distinction without a difference.”
Not everyone is happy with the arrangement.
In GOP circles, we’re told, AFPI is seen less as a visionary policy shop than a #ragtag collection of operatives.
And Democrats will certainly seize on the group’s associations with 2020 #election #denialism and, a la Project 2025, their support for other #hard-#right positions

  19. ‘October 7 was a turning point’: Trump’s pro-Israel fundraising accelerates

ALMOST AS SOON AS PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN announced he would halt a weapons shipment to Israel, Steve #Witkoff’s iPhone started buzzing.

“Every one of my friends started calling and asking, ‘What can I do for Donald Trump?’” Witkoff, a pro-Israel donor and fundraiser for Trump’s presidential campaign, told The Bulwark.

  20. Last month the New York Times reported on a dinner Donald Trump had with a small group of donors,
-- including large backers of his 2016 campaign, Robert #Mercer and his daughter Rebekah Mercer.

Other attendees included entrepreneur Omeed #Malik, cosmetics firm founder Trish #McEvoy and real estate billionaire Richard #Kurtz.

In April the Mercers and Malik were among a few dozen co-chairs of a Trump fundraising dinner hosted by John #Paulson, along with other notable co-chairs including Wilbur #Ross, Steve #Wynn, Howard #Lutnick, Robert #Wood, Kelly #Loeffler, Kenny #Troutt and Linda #McMahon – who is also a board director of Trump Media which owns Truth Social.

The Trump campaign claimed it raised over $50 million at the event.

  21. Trump Media & Technology Group and its merger partner, Digital World Acquisition,
have both been rocked by legal warfare.

Their leaders, past and present, have traded heated accusations of #deception and #impropriety across
💥four lawsuits in three states. 💥

After Trump was booted from Twitter following the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection,
👉three men played pivotal roles in building and promoting Trump Media as an online challenger against the “cancel culture” of Big Tech:

    🔸#Andy #Litinsky and 🔸#Wes #Moss, former “Apprentice” contestants who co-founded and launched Truth Social;
and 🔸#Patrick #Orlando, who as chief executive of Digital World, a special purpose acquisition company, or SPAC, offered Trump’s company a path to investor cash.

🔥But all three are now leading a rebellion of their own, confronting and potentially imperiling a trophy of Trump’s post-presidential ambitions.

Their lawsuits call into question how Trump Media’s shares will be distributed, and a legal victory could chip away at Trump’s equity during a time when he is facing a cash crunch.

And the cases threaten to erode Trump’s grasp on a stake in the post-merger company potentially worth hundreds of millions of dollars
    — a possible financial lifeline, given that he owes more than $500 million in legal fines.

  22. Donald Trump's Truth Social is set to become part of a publicly traded company after a long-delayed merger was approved.

On Friday, a shell company created solely to buy Truth Social's parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group, approved the merger, The New York Times reported.

👉Trump's net worth is set to jump more than $3 billion from the deal, based on his large stake in the social-media platform he helped create in the wake of his post-January 6, 2021, Capitol-riot bans on mainstream platforms.

Trump won't be able to sell his shares for at least six months 🔸unless the company's board waives a previous lockup agreement.

But if Trump wants to access his money sooner, it may not be a problem: The Washington Post pointed out the board would be stacked with Trump's allies.

Former congressman #Devin #Nunes, who was already the CEO of Truth Social's parent company, is set to become the CEO of the combined companies.
Donald #Trump #Jr., Trump's eldest son, also plans to be on the board.
The former Trump Cabinet officials #Robert #Lighthizer, who served as Trump's US trade representative, and #Linda #McMahon, who served as the administrator of the Small Business Administration, are also set to be on the board.

As soon as Monday, the new company could be relisted on the Nasdaq under the symbol #DJT, the miscreant's initials.

However there are also lawsuits between shareholders that could complicate the company's future.

The prospective windfall comes at a critical time for Trump -- He faces mounting costs from his legal fees and fallout from other cases.

By Monday, the criminal defendant must post an appeal bond covering the more than $456 million he owes New York state from a civil fraud judgment that Trump wants to continue to fight.

How Donald Trump’s Donors Got Rich

Forbes found 133 billionaires or spouses of billionaires who donated to Trump’s campaign ahead of the 2020 election. They built their fortunes in 17 industries

Some clearly benefited from having a friend in the White House:
🔸Miriam #Adelson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
🔸Kelcy #Warren, chief executive of Energy Transfer Partners, got clearance for his Dakota Access Pipeline, as well as a seat on the board of trustees at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
🔸Harold #Hamm, the oil baron, became an informal advisor.
🔸Linda #McMahon, who is married to WWE Chief Executive Vince McMahon, accepted a role as head of the Small Business Administration, before moving on to chair a pro-Trump super-PAC named America First Action.

On average, the donors contributed about $285,000 to the Trump campaign and its joint-fundraising committees, which split their hauls with the Republican Party.

About 9% of Trump’s billionaire donors, however, gave less than $5,000.

At least 19 also donated to pro-Trump super-PACs.

Unlike other types of political committees, super-PACs can accept unlimited amounts of money.

The #Adelsons, for instance, gave $90 million to a pro-Trump super-PAC called Preserve America.

Marvel Entertainment billionaire Isaac #Perlmutter and his wife, Laura, gave $21 million to America First.

Kelcy #Warren donated $10 million to the same group
