I suppose the irony shouldn't be lost on us that what is commonly called #generativeAI is, e.g. in the form of currently popular proprietary LLMs, a technology that is *not generating* value but, instead, extracting value from non-/low-paid workers, only to sell it back to us as something invaluable. How about calling it #exploitativeAI rather?

Think about that before you start employing one of those popular, closed LLMs!

Another standing ovation for Marianna #Mazzucato. I wish there were more economists like her in this world.

I would go even further than her: the outsourcing of all the big problems to external consultants is the reason why today's politicians and administrators are much worse and underprepared of those before them.

If you can offload all the complex issues to an (unaccountable and unelected) external company, then you don't need the brightest people in politics anymore. All present and future classes of civil servants will have no chances of being forged through challenging problem solving on scale. And an increasing amount of taxpayers money will go to "do-it-all" companies that will do more and more of the jobs that elected representatives no longer have the skills to do.

@FrauMaja ich bin auch ein Fan des #BGE, allerdings mehr von der Idee und dem Ziel, das dahinter steht als von den bisherigen konkreten Umsetzungsplänen. Was mich am meisten stört ist, dass das BGE den Fokus auf die Verteilung von geschaffenem Wert aber weniger auf die Schaffung des Wertes an sich setzt. Wir müssten den Begriff der #Erwerbsarbeit mal dringend überarbeiten und gesellschaftlich neu kalibrieren. Buchempfehlung hierzu: Mariana #Mazzucato „Wie kommt der Wert in die Welt“
