May 4, 2026#HAVANA, #CUBA May 1 — Beginning at 3:30am., #Cuban working people from all over this city began mobilizing to answer the growing threats of an invasion by the #US government, converging on 4 different rally sites in the country’s capital.
Because of fuel shortages, tens of thousands walked in small groups for many miles to reach these sites...
This time, international guests — 827, from 38 countries, representing 152 solidarity groups, trade unions, and political parties here to celebrate #MayDay with the Cuban people — were not merely observers but active participants.
In Havana, 500,000 participated in the 4 rallies, according to the Cuban press, the reports of which are corroborated by magnificent aerial photos.
An estimated 5.2 million people turned out in May Day rallies in cities and towns across the country...

Today went to the Hawaiian May Day Festival at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. It was sunny but not too hot with hula, vendors, and good food.

Just posted some (unedited) photos from Malvern's 2026 Well Dressing event. There's a _lot_ of natural springs around Malvern (which is known for its water, which the Victorians used for its supposed healing properties). So every May Day then they dress all of the springs and wells (and even water pumps and baptismal fonts!).
This year's theme was Birds.
