Would anyone like to collaborate with me on a project? The idea in my opinion is quite interesting and includes a little bit of school geometry, esotericism and unconventional approach to transport. I just want to have a person with good knowledge of max/msp programming language to discuss this idea and to realize it in practice at least partially, because I just recently downloaded max/msp and I am still poorly oriented in it, I need someone to get criticism and get familiar with best practices. If no one wants to do it, that's fine, I'll do it myself

  6. what's up with #maxmsp #max8 bubble text content in module documentation being unreadable when using any dark theme? It seems like some adapt, but some have the text color specified rather than using the default. Shouldn't be too hard to perform a batch update; can prob do myself locally 🦤

  11. I'm going to write the umpteennth ticket to #Ableton regarding #AbletonLive and why it, as well as #Max8 should be ported to Linux proper as an AppImage or Flatpak.

This one however needs a bit more weight and heft to it, so I need to pull every article, every reference of #microsoft being predatory, manipulative, deceitful, exploitative and deceptive.

Things like the hidden licensing fees for vFAT, their massive network of trackers via ad agencies, their colluding with the NSA, etc.

  13. @doctormo I'll tell you what, I want to see how deep I can go with an Inkscape SVG in conjuncture with certain VJ'ing or interactive software. SVG is XML and I am working with #Ableton and #max8

That would be using something like a web-browser and NodeJS - for use in live audio visual experiences :)

Unless you could just *cough* decouple the rendering engine and give me a portable API, like it's nothing, that would be nice /s

Path effects, automated in realtime? Omg ^^

  18. dynamics are a nightmare when you're not heavily educated in dsp ; i think I'll finally buy these books

Is it ok to buy volume 2 first ? i'm ok with synthesis, but reverbs, compressors etc are as easy to learn as Aramaic

  22. Nice to see Mercury mentioned in this article on CDM. The article is about the texteditor I made for MaxJitter, that Tom Whiston extended even further. Recommended to check out if you like to build your own live coding interface for Max.

  27. Dear Max 8 users :

I’m banging my head against the wall with my FM [mc~] polysynth : I have only sound from left side, it’s not polyphonic and voice allocation is all screwed. How poly~ works with mc is very unclear to me. What did I miss ?

  28. Jumperless Rev 3 is here!

If you're a music person and have been waiting for this revision with the fast SPI DACs that can generate 800KHz at +-8V, well, wait no longer.

Use it as a meatspace filter for or (output audio to Jumperless, mess with it on a breadboard, and send it back), or programmatically swap patch cables or effect pedals.

And it's available as a kit now if that's more your vibe. Here's a minute-long GIF of me assembling the kit.
