One of the key things to emerge from the #CovidInquiry this week has been the problem of #MattHancock.

In a parallel to Cassandra, his reputation for exaggeration & publicity seeking, led his (as it turned out, accurate) concerns about #Covid in January 2020 to be dismissed as yet more exaggeration & hysteria by #BorisJohnson's staff....

On one level this is a strange defence of Hancock, while right he had a rubbish reputation, but sounds like a plausible account of #Tory office #politics!

Very well put... and I completely agree about the reversal of flow in the realm of political blame.... the genius to our political elite is blame avoidance, or failing that the sacrificial lamb (yellow #MattHancock)

Another week at the #CovidInquiry & #MattHancock's role as useful idiot has been confirmed with 'witnesses' lining up to say he was an idiot, not be trusted & generally incompetent.

So his utility is now coming into focus as the lightning rod (sacrificial lamb?) for #Tories... as more & more is laid at his door, the rest of the shambles will try to hide in the shadow that casts.

But lets be clear: there is blame enough to go around & be shared.
