Finally got around to watch #MatrixResurrections. Bullshit blockbuster nostalgia is everywhere, so it is rare to see a #movie sequel that is so fearless about deconstructing its own mythology (Rian Jonson's „Last Jedi“ is another example of this).

It's a movie about love in the age of late capitalism.
I guess the „fans“ hated it?

Yeah. So I finally watched The Matrix: Resurrections, and it is without a doubt the movie you all slept on the most in the last year.

I must’ve cried five times. That movie is a beautiful reimagining, modern adaptation, and sort of optional second ending to the original trilogy, all while also (and maybe foremost) being a gigantic “Fuck you!” to everyone who completely misunderstands the first three.

Without saying more, *that’s* my favorite scene, though I have several.

* #TheLastJedi was my favorite #StarWars movie. I only watched all 9 of them in 2019. Never cared before then.

* #StarTrekDiscovery is great and is my top 3 #StarTrek shows. Only started watching in 2020. And I also liked #TheOrville before any Trek.

* #MatrixResurrections was my favorite out of the 4 #TheMatrix movies.

I am fascinated by how people gently face death and aging. I watched none of these franchises when I was young. Perhaps I'm just an old soul.
