  1. "Changing States" is another excellent single off of #Matmos's upcoming album. Really cool combination of electronic and acoustic sounds here, with a real Aphex/Flim/Avril 14th vibe going on. youtube.com/watch?v=vYRp8wOM6VE

  2. #Matmos have released a couple of excellent singles from their upcoming album "Metallic Life Review". For their latest video, director Jack Colbert used a metal detector to find hundreds of tiny metal fragments, which he then turned into this surreal visual experience. 3. The mystery (?) CD is "GaijinCD4" by Disc — a collaboration between #Matmos, #Kid606 and #Lesser. Described in the catalog as "skipping noise terror". Meaning, it's made from CD skipping sounds. To leave no doubt about that fact, a Hildegard of Bingen CD full of cracks is included as a bonus. I mean, everybody sure loves skipping CDs, and this makes it an even funkier experience.

  8. Today, I listened to an album made entirely out of sounds coming from a Whirlpool washing machine. It was surprisingly good: open.spotify.com/album/6rUhZEo

  19. And that was another great night out seeing #Matmos, the first time they’ve played SF in five years. As ever, experimental greatness created in the moment is a sonic brief they readily fulfill. Many great moments but for the full story of what happened here specifically, check the alt text… #music

  20. Going to be another fine night at the GAMH here with #Matmos up in a bit but first we just had a mighty fine set by the #DickSlessigCombo — one very long jam that was half motorik, half easygoing psych rocker, then an ease-in/rev-up/ease-back cover of “Neon Lights.” Good stuff! #music

  21. Today I’ve been re-listening to a wonderful EP from Matmos (maybe most well known for collaborating with Björk on her Vespertine album), released as a tour-only mini-CD back in 2006: "For Alan Turing".

  22. #NowPlaying For the 75th anniversary of #SmithsonianFolkways, they commissioned Baltimore-based experimental electronic music duo #Matmos to make an LP using the record label's back catalog. youtube.com/watch?v=bgE5EjMV4I
