The #mathisfun web site has amazing explanations for complex #mathematical concepts. I've struggled in the past to find examples of why Taylor expansions of functions work with multiple derivatives or how complex exponentials can facilitate calculations with complex numbers. Many thanks to the people involved.

If it helps the poll get traction with the nerds who follow me, I’ll create some graphs from this data and post an analysis of the data!

Today's Poll....
What is the value of this? 8 + 2 × (5² − 3) ÷ 2

"🤓 Let's dive into the thrilling world of the Peano Axioms—you know, those edge-of-your-seat, pulse-pounding rules that define 1, 2, and 3 like it's rocket science 🚀. Because who needs action movies when you can have 'Axiomatic Studies' instead? 📚💤"

🎉 Happy #PiDay, everyone!
🥧 Today (3/14), we celebrate π—the infinite, irrational, and utterly fascinating number that connects circles, creativity, and the cosmos. 🌌✨Whether you're a math whiz, a pie lover, or just here for the memes, let’s honor the beauty of Pi and its endless possibilities. 🧮💡
Fun fact: Pi has been calculated to over 62.8 trillion digits… and counting. 🤯
Let’s keep this celebration as infinite as Pi itself. 🎂💬

Some of the nerdiest tattoos I've thought about getting recently but they're all just phrases:
10,000 Hours
πthon
debit = credit
[redacted phrase about business ethics that's the unofficial motto for my professional fraternity]
ALE ( A = L + E )
False == (1 > 2)

More fun with strange attractors. Finally got GPU rendering going on these, makes things so much faster!

Wow. Once I sat down for a few minutes with a pen and a back of a napkin (well, pharmacy bag) it quickly became evident that the math needed for these intersecting planes is trivial and a single acos calc. Yay.

CW: Quick multiplication hack
If you are multiplying two even or odd numbers, you can square their average and subtract the square of their difference from the mean to get the product.
For an easy example, 18 x 22. The square of 20 is 400. Subtract 4 (2 x 2) to get 396. Simple.
Slightly harder 21 x 13. Square of 17 is 289. Subtract 16 (4 x 4) for 273. Not simple but not hard.
31 x 19. Square of 25 is 625. Minus 36 (6 x 6) equals 589. Brilliant!
